The Devil Can’t Stop God’s Word

The Devil Can’t Stop God’s Word

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)

You see, most times we assume that if the devil knew Jesus’ purpose he could have stopped it because we innocently wrongly think that that was what Paul meant in 1 Corinthians 2:8. Well, he did know. Jesus made sure He told everyone. He would say “the Son of man must be killed and would rise on the third day” (see Matthew 20:18-19). He kept saying it, but still the devil couldn’t stop it. And this is because God’s Word is too imperially powerful for him to resist.

Sometimes, we give the devil too much credit. To think he could even stop the fulfilment of God’s Word is just too much credit for him; believe me. He tried with Moses and failed; tried with Joseph and still failed. He tried to kill David before God’s Word could come to pass but again he failed; tried to destroy Peter from his path of being a mighty vessel for Jesus Christ and also failed. But with Adam, he succeeded.

Do you know why that is? Because only man can hinder God’s Word to him. Not the devil. Not anyone; just you- the man involved. That’s why he tempts you to displease God and to fall away, because on his own he can’t. So we are told to continue on the path of the Word; it’s what He did, and when we do that, we’d be living like He did (John 8:31). The scripture says if God has said a thing, He’d see to it that He performs it (1 Thessalonians 5:24). This is because whenever God gives you a promise, He puts His integrity on the line.  That’s why scripture says that He honours His Word more than His Name, because by the fulfilment of His Word, His Name is exalted and His integrity retained. And so you can be sure that if you’d stay faithful in His covenant to you, no devil will be able to stop His will from manifesting in your life. And here’s another reason to believe that:

He says “My loving kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor allow my faithfulness to fail. My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips” (Psalm 89:33-34). If we keep our part God is bound to keep His (Deuteronomy 28:1); and His never fails. The devil simply tries to use our actions and inactions against us; because he knows no serpent can bite unless the hedge has been broken. So rest easy my friend even as you stay firm on walking in the Word, for God’s Word to you will not fail.

The Word of God cannot be broken. It cannot go unfulfilled. All it says must come to be; because even though heaven and earth may pass away, its truth cannot. Furthermore, my God is not a liar and cannot change. He is not a man that He should repent from His words; thus I am confident in Him that all he has said concerning me will be accomplished. It shall be strong like a mighty wall, setting standards against the works of darkness designed against it. And at the end all it has declared of me shall become my reality, to the glory of God. Hallelujah!!!
